Evergreens! Very important....

Hello all,

We are $800 shy of our goal in the Evergreens Fundraiser Service Project, and we are asking again that EACH dancer please contribute a minimum of $5 to this very important cause. This money will be going to decorate a “dance tree” that will be auctioned off. Please consider that $5 is the cost of a trip to Subway, and if each girl makes a small sacrifice, the outcome will be tremendous. ALL the money from the Evergreens Fundraiser goes to the Safe Harbor Crisis Center, the domestic violence shelter in Davis County. This shelter is almost always filled to capacity, with women and children escaping mortal danger from domestic violence.

Mandy feels very strongly about this cause, and is asking for your support. If you have questions, feel free to email me at natalie@infinitydance.org.

Halloween Bash

Just a reminder that tomorrow night, October 24, we will be having a Halloween Bash at both studios. Fun, food and games for your whole family! We hope to see you all there, in costume of course.

The time is 7 p.m.

Kevin Maher and Lee Daniel

Hello all,

We are excited to have Kevin Maher here this Saturday, October 25, to work with the girls who made his routine. Please remember that practice starts promptly at nine a.m. You need to bring the $150 choreography fee to the practice. And we will dance until the routine is finished.

A little bit about Kevin:

Kevin Maher was born and raised in West Covina, California. He graduated from Don Bosco Technical Institute where he studied in architecture and design. At the age of 19, Kevin moved to New York City where began training at Broadway Dance Center. He further trained with "Culture Shock N.Y." (a non profit hip-hop company) and "La Santa Luz" (founded by "Drown World's" Anthony Rodriguez). He landed his first gig with Michael Rooney and Fatboy Slim for the MTV VMAs. Since then Kevin has appeared in such film and television shows as the Grammys, American Music Awards, TRL, 106th & Park, Good Morning America, MTV VMAs, Regis & Kelly, SNL, Dr. Pepper commercials and "You Got Served." He has since performed with such artists as Nelly Furtado, Missy Elliot, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Omarion, Paulina Rubio, Eve, Whitney Houston, MYA, Alicia Keys, and more. Recent choreography projects include a Kelis music video, the feature film "Bring It On, All or Nothing", Natalie & Frankie J, promo, Machi music video, Jolin music video, Mariah Carey promo & world tour, Basement Jaxx music video and George Michael music video. Kevin currently resides in North Hollywood, California where he teaches hip-hop/jazz/funk at the Edge Performing Arts Center and Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio. He can also be found touring the U.S. with NYCDA and Monsters of Hip-Hop.

Kevin will be bringing Lee Daniel with him.

A Chicago native, Lee has been dancing all his life, but it wasn't until he attended the University of Illinois and joined a small hip-hop dance team(Dance2XS) that he became serious about his craft. Much of his training is from Dance2XS founder, Patrick Chen, who has traveled the world teaching as well as working with such artists as Misteeq, Mariah Carey, Asia Idol, appearing in the hit films Matrix 2 & 3 and many more. Some other training would definitely include the Monsters of Hip Hop convention where Lee was chosen to be a part of the show "Roadtrip" which is choreographed by the industries elite; Tabitha and Napoleon, Marty Kudelka, Rhapsody, Chonique and Lisette, and Brian Friedman to name a few.He co-directed the International Hip-Hop company Dance2XS. He has taught at the top studios in Chicago, New York, London, Italy, Portugal, and Estonia to name a few. His choreography has been featured in Dance Chicago for the past 3 years. He has also choreographed for upcoming artist Raphael Smith. He loves to dance and share his passion through instruction with hopes to inspire others to be the best dancer they can be. Lee teaches regularly at Debbie Reynolds in Los Angeles.

Christmas Service Project

Hello Parents,

This week we are sending home notes (with an envelope) for a very important Christmas Service Project. We are going to decorate a tree, with a dance theme, to donate to the Evergreens Fundraiser. All money raised from this event goes to support Safe Harbor Crisis Center, the domestic violence shelter in Davis County.

Did you know that up to 50 percent of homeless women and children in America are victims of domestic violence?

You can view the flier here, as well as the one that will come home. We are asking for a donation of a minimum of $5 per dancer. Money is due by Monday, October 20.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at: natalie@infinitydance.org.

Let's make someone else's Christmas a little brighter, and support this very important event.

Ballroom Update

I sent out a note about ballroom for Carrie, and then we realized it did not specify WHICH studio it was for. The note that went out originally was for Ogden students only.

Brigham students will also be working the same weekend as Ogden students, but instead of working the 22nd they will work the 21st.

November 21
Brigham Schedule:

Sr. Ballroom will be required to be there from 3:30-6:30p.m. and Jr. Ballroom will meet from 6:30p.m.-9:00p.m.

November 22
Ogden Schedule:

The Senior group will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Junior group will meet from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Carrie will be placing a shoe order next week, so she needs to collect the $70.00 from each student as soon as possible so that can be taken care of. If you are writing a check, please make it out to Carrie Spendlove, not Infinity Dance.

From Carrie: "While I am so excited about the big groups we have this year, it does make it hard to progress as much as I would like to from week to week. I will be flying in an assistant from California to help me set the choreography on the students. I am asking that each student bring $15 to help pay for the 9 hours of guest choreography and assistance. Please email me with any questions.

I am so excited for our competition season! Your kids are so talented and it has been a pleasure working with them.

Also, I would like to add for ALL students at both studios, that I have had several questions regarding costumes and performances. There will be a $70 costume fee (the standard studio costume fee) and they will be competing in 3 competitions as well as the Spring recital."

Hip Hop Audition for Kevin Maher's dance

Hello all,

We realize that those of you with dancers on Senior Funk are waiting to hear who will be in the hip hop piece that will be choreographed by Kevin Maher.

Because this piece involves both studios, it is taking some time to make the final decision, but as soon as the decision is made, we will post it here on the blog. Thanks for your patience!

Parents Needed to Help with Halloween Bash!

Hello Parents,

We are in need of volunteers to help with the Halloween Party being held Friday, October 24, at both studios. We need Brigham parents to help with the Brigham bash, and Ogden parents to help with the Ogden bash.

If you can give us a hand, please send an email to: natalie@infinitydance.org so I can add you to the list.
