Update on January 31 practice
Hello everyone,
This is an update on our January 31 Company practice. This practice will require full hair and makeup, accessories, the black bums everyone ordered, and a black shirt. Also props and glasses. We have a lot of routines to get on the floor, so we are not doing costumes just yet, and will have a dress rehearsal at the studio, but Mandy wants hair and makeup done, and you must wear all black. PLEASE WATCH THE WEB SITE FOR CHANGES and additional information. We are headed into crunch season, and the best way to stay informed is to watch the Web site.
Robin will be sending home a note soon with instructions for hair and makeup.
ALSO, there will be NO PARENTS ALLOWED at this rehearsal. Faculty only. We have a very limited amount of time to get each routine on the stage, work with spacing, etc. Please arrange to drop your daughter off and pick her up when her time is over.
Mothers of the younger Company members need not worry, as Senior and Teen Company dancers will help the younger girls.
Here is the schedule again. Please note this is both BRIGHAM and OGDEN Companies.
10:00 – 12:00--Autumn--Brigham Production, Ogden Production, Geeks, Brigham & Ogden Jr. Company, Brigham Jr. Funk, Ogden & Brigham Mini Company, Take Me to the River, Eleanor Rigby, Brigham Funk Company, Ogden Teen Company, Jr. Company 2
12:00 – 1:00--Mandy--Brigham & Ogden Sr. Company, Brigham Jr. Company, Ogden & Brigham Teen Company
1:00 – 1:30--Brandi & Carrie--Brigham Mini Company, Brigham Teen Company, and Tiny Company
1:30 - 2:00--Kassie & Makinzee--Jr. Company 2, Salty Eyes, Off the Rail, Teen Company 2
2:00 – 3:00--Angie & Amber--Ogden Sr. Company, Ogden Jr. Company, Ogden Jr. Funk, Ogden Mini Company, Mini Funk & Tiny Company
NOTE: We will not be taking Ogden Sr. Funk or Alan’s Routine to Odyssey. They are not finished and we still need time to get them ready. Your accounts will be credited for this fee.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Robin is finalizing Odyssey competition TODAY. If you have not registered for your solo/duo, you will NOT be able to compete.
Dance for Life will be finalized January 30. If you haven’t turned in paperwork or contacted Robin, it will be too late!!
Please remember to turn in your paperwork when it is due for Spotlight and Thunderstruck. Forms will be available in the office February 2.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
I owe an apology to the Brigham parents that I confused with one of my emails. I had written out a headline that said Ogden Companies, but omitted it when I used my cut and paste function, and thus led them to believe Brigham Companies were the ones with a practice.
I am very sorry for my mistake, and will take extra care to make sure it is clear from here on out.
Also, if you see a mistake, or are confused, please email me and ask about it. I am not perfect, so sometimes I make a typo. I appreciate any help you would give me to get it right.
Until next time,
Natalie

Update on Green Converse Shoes
Hello all,
We are hearing from some people that certain sizes of the green high top Converse shoes are sold out. Mandy said that it is okay to get low top Converse green, if you cannot get the high tops. The girls will be wearing long pants, so it will not be an issue.
The low top green shoes can be purchased online or at Journeys.com.

Green Converse for Ogden Senior Funk
Hello Everyone,
There has been some confusion on trying to order these shoes, so I am just trying to clear it up.
You have to order the green Converse high tops from converse.com (http://www.converse.com). They are available and in stock. The sku is #1J791.
Here is a direct link to the page with the right shoe, and the right color.
Give the link a minute to load, and it will take you RIGHT to the page. We are ordering the green Chuck Taylor All Star high top shoes. There is ONLY one green. There is another "greenish" color called pine, but it is very dark and almost black.
Several things to be aware of:
1. You cannot order half sizes. You will either have to go up or down. (I went down, but if your child is a SOLID 6.5, with toes to the end of the shoe, I would go up.)
2. Converse sizing is different than traditional women's US sizing. For example, Cambre wears a size 6.5 in a US street shoe, but I had to order a woman's size 6 for her, because they do not have half sizes. This is the Converse size 4. You do not have to convert it. They have a converter on the site. Usually, I would go up a size, but I know that the 6 fits her, because I have already purchased the same shoe in the black, for Production, and she tried it on. Since most (but not all) of the dancers in Senior Funk are on Company, they will have these black shoes, or need to get them. You can easily buy these at Journeys in the mall, or just go and try them on. That way, you will know what size to get.
3. Converse shoes run big, because they are based on men's feet, not women's.
4. There is only ONE green shoe available in this style. The other "greenish" color is pine. If you are seeing a different color, you are in the wrong place.
If you have ANY other questions, please feel free to call me (but I'm not putting my phone number on the Internet!) or email me at natalie@infinitydance.com.

Project Smile
$15 needs to be paid by next week (January 15). You can order tickets through February 5, then Robin will do a group order. We would like to sell 60-80 tickets between our two studios (Brigham and Ogden). REMEMBER, this is a fund-raising benefit!
At this time, the routines we are planning on taking are Eleanor Rigby, The Geeks Were Right and Ogden and Brigham Productions.
Project Smile sponsor letters and the Project Smile note are on the Web site.

THE GEEKS WERE RIGHT:
Costume note: Mandy wants everyone in “nerdy, geeking outfits.” She’s thinking either chino pants or shorts, white collared shirts, plaid shirts, bow ties, sweater vest, argyle socks, suspenders, etc. NO BRIGHT COLORS. Maroons, tans, navy blues, forest greens, etc. Professors (Teyler, Tasha, Jesse) will have lab coats, but will need the geeky outfits under their coats as well.
Please get this together and bring it to dance on Monday, January 26. She originally told the girls the 19th, but there is not dance that day, except for special rehearsals.

This is just a reminder that you need to order your green Converse Chuck Taylor high top All Stars from the Converse.com Web site. These shoes are NOT available except for the Converse Web site.
I just ordered two pair, and it's relatively easy to do.
These shoes need to be ordered NOW, because our first competition is just little more than a month away. Converse promises delivery in seven to ten days.

New ballet class
We are adding a ballet class in Ogden, Thursday nights at 8:30. This will be a Teen/Senior Company level class, and it will be taught by Brenda Butcher.
Brenda Butcher has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance from the University of Utah. She has trained extensively in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern. Brenda was a member of the Mountain West Ballet Company and spent three years as the Assistant Nutcracker Rehearsal Mistress for Ballet West. She is currently Dance/HLAC Adjunct Faculty at Salt Lake Community College, and enjoys teaching college level students. She has also choreographed for several high school dance companies and drill teams across the state.
This class is an excellent opportunity for those dancers who have been missing ballet classes due to conflicts to make up both their ballet requirements and also make up demerits. Please be aware that demerits are now being tallied up and we will be removing girls from dances who have too many demerits.
Please do not make us take girls out of routines. We want everyone to be in the routines for their team, and specialty routines they made, and now is the time to address these demerit issues and make sure that classes are being made up.
This ballet class is also an excellent chance to improve your technique, so please take advantage of it.

Dance/Weather Information--Tuesday, January 6
Hello all,
The weather is still bad, and promising to continue to be bad throughout the evening and early morning. Therefore, this is what we are planning for dance.
Brigham City Classes--All Brigham City classes will end at 6:00 p.m. If the girls want to go to ballet, they can, but it is not required. There will be NO demerits given or absences marked. Please use your judgment. If you feel it is a risk to drive to dance, please do not do so.
Teen Prep in Brigham City will NOT have classes today. Autumn will arrange a makeup day.
Ogden Classes--All Ogden classes will go on as scheduled, however NO absences will be marked or demerit givens. Again, please use your judgment in making a decision about whether or not to attend dance.
MAKEUP CLASSES--Thus far, the following makeup classes have been scheduled.
Friday--
Mini Company 4-5 p.m. with Angie
Mini Company 5-6 p.m. with Autumn
I will make updates as they come in.
Thanks!
Natalie

Revised Dance--Snow Schedule!!! Important.
Hello All,
The weather is VERY bad, all the roads are backed up and icy, and it is still snowing, so the decision has been made to let dance out at 6 p.m. tonight. If you CANNOT make it, because of road conditions, there will be NO demerits given or absences recorded. Please do not take risks to get to dance.
There will be a makeup day this Friday. I will send out a revised schedule as soon as we have it.
Thanks!

Just a note, there WILL be dance tonight, however Mandy requests that you please drive carefully and slowly, and no demerits will be given for being late.
Also, if you are coming from Layton or south of that, I-15 is a literal parking lot, so it would be best to go up to Highway 89.
